Update on The Girls – #9

A few things from the girls this week –

Back in October, we had a leak that ruined the carpet in E’s room. We finally got the carpet people out Friday to replace E’s carpet. So, the girls are no longer sleeping in the same room. (Who knew that it would take two months?). The girls are much happier with their own rooms.

C –is still on the verge of walking. She’s crawling everywhere, as we have taken the gates down that blocked off much of the house. C loves to play with the magnets on the fridge and we keep finding magnets all over the house. She is so happy to have her room back. Her sleep schedule does not depend on big sister’s moods any longer and she’s sleeping longer and better.

E – is saying more things. This morning she woke up, looked out the window at a palm tree, and said “green palm tree.” Wow! Three words in a row. She knows all of her colors now and enjoys showing off her knowledge. A couple of words that she’s picked up from her books are “bumblebee” and “dyn-o-mite!” She goes through her ABC book and can identify the letters and the pictures. Not bad for a two-year-old kid, but maybe I’m a little biased πŸ™‚

She has started singing songs on her own (“Are You Sleeping?,” “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” “Row, Row, Your Boat,” and “The Farmer in the Dell”). She has also started “reading” her books to her stuffed animals. Naturally, she was thrilled to get her room back this week; she gets to play with all of the toys that have been unavailable for the last few weeks.

About mobilemojoman

I have been a Mobile resident for about a decade. Working as a college professor keeps me off the streets and pays the bills. I am married to a woman (the MojoWoman) who is a much better person than I am and we have two beautiful girls who keep us both jumping. My interests are varied - food & drink, sports, politics, exercise, books, travel, Mardi Gras, and all of life's rich pageant. In the future, I'd like to learn more about sailing, photography, Cajun/Creole cooking, making beer and wine, and writing.
