Update on the Girls #11 – More Time at Orange Beach

With a little down time this week, we headed out to Orange Beach. The Girls had a good time. Here are a few tidbits –

C – has been a little quicker to let us know what she’s thinking the last few days. (In other words, she’s complaining). She’s become more interested in books; she hands them to us and flips the pages, but she seems unclear on the idea that they tell a story. We put her down on the sand at the beach and she crawled off, getting sand all over her clothes. Her crawling along the beach reminded me of a sea turtle.

She will be one Wednesday and no longer an infant. Mom is going to be busy making a caterpillar cake for C’s birthday party Wednesday. Where did the time go?

E – is in a finicky stage where she does not want to eat. She loves her milk and all sweets, but it’s difficult to get her interested in anything else. We did have some Lucky Charms cereal at the beach; she ate the marshmallows and left the rest of it – typical American kid. She has learned her shapes and we’re very proud of her. Yesterday she managed to use the potty for the first time. We were very proud of her – and very relieved.

About mobilemojoman

I have been a Mobile resident for about a decade. Working as a college professor keeps me off the streets and pays the bills. I am married to a woman (the MojoWoman) who is a much better person than I am and we have two beautiful girls who keep us both jumping. My interests are varied - food & drink, sports, politics, exercise, books, travel, Mardi Gras, and all of life's rich pageant. In the future, I'd like to learn more about sailing, photography, Cajun/Creole cooking, making beer and wine, and writing.
