On Tuesday (3 January) it was too cold to take the girls to the park for a walk. So, we loaded them up in the car and took a ride out to the thrift stores.
We ate lunch at a Krystal and there were a couple of snowbirds from Minnesota at the next table. They “oohed and aahed” over the girls and the girls were very cute in return.
C – (12 months) – Had a great time “thrifting.” I put her in the cart’s basket and she enjoyed riding around while I went through the stores. She’s at the age where she grabs everything, so I had to be careful as I pushed her through the store.
E – (26 months) – There was a ‘tween girl (about 12) in the Krystal. E was just fascinated & spent much of lunch staring at her. She has a very strong identification with other kids – especially girls.
E doesn’t always do well in public situations, but she had a lot of fun at Krystal. She had some cheeseburger, fries, and Hi-C; obviously, none of of us can eat this stuff all of the time.
There was a young mother in one of the thrift stores. She had a small girl – about two – with her and the child wailed the entire time. We felt for the mom; all parents have been there.
My wife – the mojowoman – found a green Mardi Gras gown for $7.99 and plans to wear it for the ball this year 🙂 She tried it on when we got home and it’s a perfect fit. You cannot call the mojowoman a spendthrift. As always, she’ll be the most-beautiful woman at the ball.
