Well, it’s been a little bit since I managed to write about The Girls. That’s the problem with blogging about your one- and two-year-old kids, you’re so busy taking care of them that it’s hard to find the time to blog.
It is cold in Mobile this weekend, at least by local standards. We took the girls out for a walk in the yesterday and the temp was in the 40s. It was fun, but the girls were ready to come back into our warm home by the time we got back.
E fell asleep on the walk, which never happens. We think that both girls are going through major growth spurts, as they are sleeping all of the time. E didn’t make it out of bed until after 8:00 a.m. this morning and – again – that never happens.
E– (27 months) has progressed in so many ways. She now plays alone quite a bit, whereas before she demanded constant attention. Her speech has become clearer and much more
complex; she creates sentences with subjects, verbs, and objects. Also, she has started to label other people’s emotions “She’s happy,” “He’s sad,” etc. And she still loves her Crunchberries.
C – (13 months) is saying many more words now – “balloon,” “bottle,” “Mama,” and “Dada,” among many others. She has also started to interact with us during the “If You’re Happy and You Know It” song. Her appetite is great, and she has started to eat soup with pasta in it.
One sad change we noticed this week was that the knees of two of her 12-month-outfits have worn out. Both outfits are cute and have many fond memories, as both girls wore them. One of the outfits is a green pair of Small Paul pajamas. Finally, C shows no interest in the mobile that we bought for her, but she loves to follow sister’s mobile when we turn it on at night.
This week there are many Mardi Gras parades in Mobile over the next week or so. We plan to take the girls to a few. It will be interesting to see what they think of the annual spectacle.
