Update on The Girls – 2012 – #17 – Friday Errands with The Girls

Friday we went to Dirt Cheap which is a “deep, deep discount” store of things that appear to have been returned or fallen off a truck or something…

E (29 months) had the best time in the store. They had a huge mirror & she enjoyed posing in front of it. A woman saw E & had a hard time not laughing. After posing, E said, “E—- like Dirt Cheap.” The Mojowoman looked @ some the formal gowns & loved those. She is such a girly girl.

The Girls were getting antsy, so we tried to hurry through Wal-Mart. E insisted on walking @ all of our stops, but she was tired in Wally & kept sitting down in the aisles. She saw a little girl who is about a year older than she & it fascinated her. The Girl & E kept getting each other’s attention & giggling. E is used to being “The Big Sister” and doesn’t quite know how to interact with older kids. But they fascinate her.

After Wally, everyone was dog tired & hungry, so we decided to drive through Chick-fil-A for lunch. C (16 months) got her first kids meal. Lunch went well, though E picked @ her food, as she always seems to do. (She’s still gaining weight).

A few other odds and ends…

E – is now out of her booster seat. Every time she goes to the table she says that she wants to sit in the “big person chair.” She gets a lot of her calories from milk & constantly asks for it. She says, “Milk! Milk! Milk!” to request it; she also uses this request as a defense mechanism. When she’s embarrassed or we scold her, she often makes this request as a way of changing the subject.

C – is now in her sister’s old booster seat. It’s a little sad not to have anyone in a high chair. We had dressing (“stuffing”) for dinner & she loved it; her palate continues to expand. She continues to show some signs of the “Traumatic Twos,” but mostly she is an easy kid.

About mobilemojoman

I have been a Mobile resident for about a decade. Working as a college professor keeps me off the streets and pays the bills. I am married to a woman (the MojoWoman) who is a much better person than I am and we have two beautiful girls who keep us both jumping. My interests are varied - food & drink, sports, politics, exercise, books, travel, Mardi Gras, and all of life's rich pageant. In the future, I'd like to learn more about sailing, photography, Cajun/Creole cooking, making beer and wine, and writing.
