The Girls enjoyed spending time with their “Bibi and Pop” (my parents). They had a swing set @ Bibi & Pop’s house, so we probably need to get swings for our home as well. It looks as though we’ll be heading to Home Despot. This week they enjoyed running around the yard while the MojoWoman watered her plants. The Girls wanted to run in the water that was coming from the hose.
As it is summer – and very hot – Mom has started fixing smoothies. Both Girls have become big smoothie fans.
Last weekend we took The Girls down to the pool for the first time in a while. E loved it and she even interacted some with the other kids. C is still not so sure. Dad carried her around and she enjoyed looking at all of the people. (That’s Dad’s favorite thing, too).
C (17 months) – is starting to get interested in books. She doesn’t make it through the books, but she is interested. We need to get her some age-appropriate books. She often chooses books that are for older kids.
She has discovered that there are wires running to the DVD players in the backseat of the car. She is fascinated and loves pulling on the wires. If she realizes that pulling the wires out stops her beloved Dora DVDs, I predict that she will stop.
We got some animal crackers from the store & C loves them; this might not sound like much, but the crackers are the first “sweet” that has been a big hit with C. Usually, we break up larger foods for her, but she is handling the animal crackers just fine.
E (31 months) – has an alphabet book and she has learned that the first letter of her name starts with an “E.”
She’s keeping her parents on their toes by tearing off her diapers. Naturally, this is causing a lot of “concern” about where this might be heading. Mom & Dad have been doing a lot of reading online about what is going on in her head when she does this.
Yesterday, we were rolling through Wal-Mart and E spotted a Dora the Explorer book in the bargain bin. She had to have that book, so we got it for her. (It was less than $3). Now it’s her new favorite. We’re thrilled that both of our girls love books.
