At night, I finished Killing the Messenger. It was an atypical of most true-crime stories in that it spent little time on the legal proceedings. It’s a strong book and I enjoyed it. I need to write a review.
Since Tuesday was T’s day to teach, I read By the Shores of Silver Lake by Laura Ingalls Wilder as the kids’ bedtime story Monday night. I read Chapter 23. It was about the Ingalls family running into its old preacher who was coming by out on the prairie. The preacher tells the family that he knows of a college for the blind in Iowa that Marhy might be able to attend.
Pa is still making plans to go stake his claim in Brookings, South Dakota. E was flummoxed as to why Pa hasn’t left to stake the claim.
